I Love You .not.

"I love you" she said
The words dancing in his head
It was love
Or was it lust?
That drove these two on

"I love you too" he smiled
A truth so innocent
A truth so pure
That lay on her palm
Like a dead rose

"I love you more" she sighed
Leaning against him
Softly, taking his hand
In hers so gentle
And cool

"That simply can't be true" he said
Wrapping his hand around hers
He kissed her check
Silently saying those three words
I love you, again

"You're right it isn't" she cried
A tear dropping down her cheek
It fell on his leg
and joined another drip
From the eye of the one she once cared
